Advance Care Planning: Advance Directives for Comprehensive Emergency Preparedness (WL)

Join us for a discussion about advance care planning and the role of an advance directive as an effective tool in every person’s emergency preparedness kit. In this 90-minute session, we’ll explore the framework of advance care planning and components of an efficient advance directive, including the legal requirements and documentation needed for an advance directive, living wills, and choosing a healthcare agent to speak for you when you cannot speak for yourself. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the Virginia Health Care Decisions Act, learn how to create and utilize an advance directive, and engage in discussion with a curious group of like-minded peers.
