Director Bryan Fogel’s investigation of doping in amateur sports led to more dangerous ground than he expected when he connected with the head of Russia’s national anti-doping laboratory and “fixer” for the Sochi Olympics. This true-crime thriller won a Special Jury Award at Sundance as well as the 2017 Oscar for Best Documentary. TV-MA

Paul Thomas Anderson wrote and directed this nostalgic teen romance set in California in the early 1970s. An art house favorite, the film stars Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman with cameos by Bradley Cooper and Sean Penn. R
