Emergency Communications Exercise

Members of the Williamsburg Area Amateur Radio Club are inviting the public to its mobile Amateur Radio station demonstration at Little Creek Reservoir Park in Toano, VA from 2 – 5:30 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Under the helpful guidance of a licensed amateur radio operator from the Williamsburg Area Amateur Radio Club — Come and Get On The Air! Join club members as they participate in this year’s national American Radio Relay League’s Field Day designed to roughly simulate activities and skills necessary for FCC licensed Amateur Radio Operators to deploy an ad hoc disaster radio communication station just as they might be called upon to do in the event of a weather or other emergency. The club also provides an additional emergency communications capability for the James City County Emergency Operations Center.
