Gary Powers Jr. to Speak at NARFE lunch

$21.00Author Gary Powers, Jr., will talk about espionage and events of the Cold War at the March 14 luncheon of the Williamsburg chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) association. He will also have his books to sell and sign.
Powers’ father was Francis Gary Powers, an American pilot whose U-2 spy plane was shot down while flying a reconnaissance mission in Soviet Union airspace in 1960.
The event takes place at Colonial Heritage, 6520 Arthur Hills Drive, Williamsburg, with a social gathering at 11:00 AM followed by lunch at 11:30 AM.
The lunch menu includes a choice of entree, a Caesar salad, and chef’s choice dessert. Entree choices are grilled chicken with spinach-artichoke cream sauce, roasted red potatoes, and asparagus or pesto pasta primavera with shrimp.
Cost of the luncheon is $21 (cash, check or credit card). Make checks payable to Colonial Heritage. RSVP with your choice of entree no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, March 9, to PZKell@Cox.net. The kitchen needs to know how many of each to prepare.
