Gwen Parker of AARP speaks on mental health at NARFE’s January 10 luncheon

$21.00Gwen Parker of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) kicks off the 2023 luncheon series of the Williamsburg chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association with a presentation on the Six Pillars of Brain Health.
The Tuesday, January 10, event begins with a social get-together at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:30.
The luncheon takes place at Colonial Heritage, 6520 Arthur Hills Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23188. The menu includes a choice of entree, a house salad, garlic mashed potatoes, buttered peas, and red velvet cake. Entree choices include flank steak with herbed mushroom glaze or pan fried flounder with lemon butter sauce.
Cost of the luncheon is $21 (cash, check or credit card). Make checks payable to Colonial Heritage. Please RSVP with your choice of entree no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, January 5, to pzell@Cox.net.
The February 7 and March 14 NARFE luncheons also will be held at Colonial Heritage.
The February speaker will be John Sullivan of American Eagle Flags. He will discuss evolutionary changes and the history of American flags (regulations, sizes, materials, and protocols).
In March, Gary Powers, Jr., will talk about espionage and events of the Cold War. Mr. Powers’ father was Francis Gary Powers, an American pilot whose U-2 spy plane was shot down while flying a reconnaissance mission in Soviet Union airspace in 1960.
