May 17 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free
Model room will be open from 12-2 pm and 3-4 pm in the Schell Room. Presentation in the Theatre from 2-3 pm. Join us for the “Hidden in Plain Sight” presentation, where parents can gain invaluable insights into the hidden risks associated with their teens’ behaviors. This interactive program invites you to explore a re-created typical teenager’s bedroom, containing over 100 items that may indicate dangerous or risky behaviors related to drug and alcohol use.
Through hands-on learning, you’ll discover how to identify current trends in substance use, including alcohol, marijuana, prescription medications, vaping, and more. We’ll provide practical strategies for initiating open conversations with your teen about substance use and misuse. A PowerPoint presentation will guide you through each prop in the room, explaining its significance and how it can be misused. Additionally, community resources and literature will be available during the presentation to support your ongoing efforts. Equip yourself with the knowledge to discern the hidden signs and foster healthier discussions with your child!
