The Colonial Heritage Model Railroad Club Train Display
Model train display, sponsored by The Colonial Heritage Model Railroad Club, featuring trains from the new Yarmouth Creek & Western Railroad. Open to the public, free of charge.
The Colonial Heritage Model Railroad Club (CH MRRC) operates the Yarmouth Creek & Western (YC&W) HO scale railroad on a 30 ft by 16 ft “L “ shaped modular layout. The club began developing this layout in 2015 and in 2018 began displaying the layout in the CH Clubhouse during the Christmas holiday season. We actively look for additional venues to share our hobby with others.
All model railroad layouts are a work in progress. Our club layout has scenery and is capable of operating multiple trains independently per track using DCC (Digital Command Control), it is far from finished. While there is the obvious enjoyment from operating trains, there are many other facets of the hobby that include carpentry, wiring and circuitry, building structures, creating realistic scenery, and painting backdrops. One of the basic reasons for forming this club is to allow our members to take advantage of the knowledge or expertise that other members might have on any given facet of model railroading.
