Throwback Thursday Film Series from Williamsburg Regional Library
Now in its 19th year, the Throwback Thursday Film Series screens a variety of classic and contemporary movies for an adult audience. All films are shown in the Williamsburg Library Theatre.
November’s theme: It’s a Miracle!
November 3, 2:00-3:30 p.m.: Miracle at Midnight (1998)
Sam Waterston and Mia Farrow star in this true story of how one Danish family risked their lives to save their Jewish neighbors during the Second World War. TV-PG 1hr 30min
November 10, 2:00-3:50 p.m.: Miracle in the Rain (1956)
This three-hankie tearjerker about a WWII-era romance between a shy, lonely woman and a soldier on leave stars Jane Wyman and Van Johnson. Costarring Eileen Heckart and Alan King, the script was written by Ben Hecht based on his novel of the same name. NR 1hr 48min
November 17, 2:00-4:00 p.m.: Miracle of the Bells (1948)
A Hollywood press agent, mourning the premature death of an actress he secretly loved, tries to drum up publicity around her funeral to force the studio to release her final film. Fred MacMurray, Alida Valli, and Frank Sinatra costar in this sentimental drama. NR 2hr
