VIMS After Hours: Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud

March 30, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Join us as Dr. Steven Kuehl highlights the transport of river-borne sediment from mountain source to ocean sink, its importance to the global CO2 cycle, and the changes wrought by human activity. Along the journey, we will hear tales of land surface modifications, river dam construction (and removal), river deltas sinking, and downstream impacts on the marine environment.

Registration is required.

After Hours lectures are designed for an adult audience.

We are excited to offer this lecture in-person in McHugh Auditorium on VIMS’ Gloucester Point Campus! Face masks are currently optional for all individuals in indoor spaces on the VIMS campus. This lecture will also be available as a live-streamed webinar. Registration is required for both in-person and webinar attendees. Webinar links will be sent in all registration confirmation emails. At this time, we are expecting a hybrid event, but registrants will be notified in advance if the event moves to a virtual only format.
